Please ensure that you have read and understand our terms and conditions. It is your responsibility to carefully read the terms on our website and raise any concerns with our chapter before making your booking and/or membership purchase. Submissions of both a membership and event reservation online or via email registration is regarded as a firm booking and acceptance of these terms and conditions.
Event Registration Fees
The ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc.’s cancellation policy is intended to maintain a low cost for attendees and our membership. Due to financial obligations incurred by our chapter, cancellations must be made 48 hours before the day of the event/training. No refunds or credits will be provided for cancellations received within that 48 hour window. Attendees who who do not cancel and do not attend an event are still responsible for their full registration fee.
Please note that payment of fees must be made in full prior to attending an event, unless the event specifies that walk-ins are welcome. Credit cards and Zelle payments may be accepted at the door if noted on the registration or event flyer. At times, there are additional fees for walk-in attendees. Registration for an event must be conducted online through our chapter website unless otherwise noted. If you incur an issue during the registration process, kindly email us at [email protected] requesting assistance PRIOR to the event.
Payment Types Accepted
Below are the only accepted methods of payments by the ACFE NJ.

Credit Cards: ACFE NJ accepts all major credit cards for payment. Payments can be made online through our website at the time of registration. Events that accept walk-ins will also have the ability to accept credit cards at the door.
- Zelle: ACFE NJ accepts Zelle for walk-ins whereas the event(s) has a walk-in option.
Should any payment be rejected for any reason, and additional fees are incurred by the ACFE NJ, we will invoice you those fees and any balance to you for payment.
Cancellation & REFUND POLICY
If you have registered and/or paid for an event and you need to cancel, you MUST cancel online through your account no later than 48 hours prior to the event date, unless otherwise indicated in specific event policies, to request a refund and/or cancel your registration. The ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc. must confirm event registrations with the venue before the event, and any changes after this time period can become a financial cost to the ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc. Cancellations attempted after the cutoff time listed above will not be refunded.
In the event we have to cancel one of our events, ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc. would immediately notify all registered participants by way of email and social media outlets. Your email on file with your registration will be our primary source to contact you should we need to cancel or modify the event.
In addition to email and social media, our webmaster will post the cancellation on our chapter website www.acfenj.org .

Liability
The registration fees do not include participants' insurance against personal accidents, sickness, cancellations by any party, theft, loss, or damage to personal possessions and the ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc. is not liable. The attendee will not hold the ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc. liable or responsible for any personal accidents, sickness, cancellations by any party, theft, loss, or damage to personal possessions. Participants are strongly advised to take out adequate personal insurance to cover travel, accommodation, cancellation, and personal effects.
Record retention policy
Per NASBA Standard No. 24, ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc., maintains adequate documentation (electronic or paper) for a minimum of five (5) years to support our compliance with the NASBA standards and the reports that may be required of participants. The ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc., can and can provide evidence of compliance with the following:
- Records of participation
- Dates and locations
- Author/instructor, author/developer, and content reviewer, as applicable, names and credentials. For the CPA and tax attorney acting as an author/instructor, author/developer, and content reviewer for accounting, auditing, or tax program(s), the state of licensure, license number, and status of license should be maintained. For the enrolled agent acting in such capacity for tax program(s), information regarding the enrolled agent number should be maintained.
- Number of CPE credits earned by participants.
- Results of program evaluations.
- Program descriptive materials (course announcement information).
The ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc., retains copies of program materials, evidence that the program materials were developed and reviewed.
Speaker/Topic Substitution
The ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc. reserves the right to substitute the presenter and/or topic prior to the event with or without notice. Situations like this may occur if a presenter is unable to attend for a myriad of reasons, to include but limited to; travel delays or illness. Substitutions may occur the day of the event. While our organization will do our best to communicate presenter/topic changes to attendees in advance, this may not always be feasible. Regardless of the reason for the substitution, the attendee acknowledges that refunds will not be allowed.
Photos & Privacy
Attendees agree to their pictures, videos, and/or voices taken or recorded by the Chapter, other attendees, speakers, the venue, and/or the media. Attendees also agree that there will be no compensation or rights attached to such recordings/photos, and this notice applies to all events in which the attendee is present. If the attendee would not like their photos, videos, or voice recordings utilized, the attendee must notify the chapter prior to the event. Attendees also authorize the Chapter to share the attendee list with event sponsors. Information that will be shared will be limited to your name, company, title, and email address. If an attendee does not wish to have their information shared with a sponsor, the attendee must notify the Chapter prior to the event. In the event that walk-ins are permitted, the attendee can make notification at the time of registration. Individuals who are given an identifier to wear as an ‘opt-out’ individual are responsible for wearing the identifier prominently and visibly at all times.
Venue Access
The ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc. reserves the right to refuse admittance, or remove from the premises, anyone who is disruptive to the event, attendees, and/or the presenter. If an individual is removed from the event due to disruptive or unprofessional behavior and deportment, the attendee agrees that they forfeit their registration fee and are not entitled to a refund. On its own, the venue may also deem to remove an individual from the venue and/or event for any reason. As above, if an attendee is removed from the premises, they are not entitled to a refund.
Annual Membership Dues
ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc. dues are for a twelve (12) month period and are non-refundable. Chapter dues help run the chapter's overhead cost, allowing an active member to attend complimentary webinars, and member-only events, and receive member-discounted pricing seminars. It is the responsibility of the member to ensure that their membership dues are current. The ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc. Board of Directors, at their discretion, may revise the yearly annual membership during a given calendar year and will notify the membership of any changes to the membership costs in a timely manner.
Award Eligibility
To be eligible for Chapter-sponsored awards, the member must be in good standing with the Chapter and have joined/renewed their membership more than 60 days before nomination.
The New Jersey Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.NASBARegistry.org
